Milton Academy combines rigorous academics, vibrant student life, and a distinctive boarding and day community. Our students are challenged to think deeply, explore widely, and grow into confident, compassionate leaders.
Our unique structure—comprising Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools—creates a strong sense of continuity and community, allowing students to be known, tested, and supported at every step of their educational journey. Half of our Upper School students live on campus as part of a dynamic boarding community that adds richness and global perspectives to daily life at Milton.

At Milton Academy's Lower School, students in Kindergarten through Grade 5 learn in an environment where curiosity is celebrated, relationships matter, and every child is encouraged to grow with confidence.
Across our entire curriculum, research in elementary education thoughtfully informs every pedagogical decision we make.
We know that students learn best in environments where they feel a deep sense of belonging, experience joy in the process, and are encouraged to explore with curiosity and confidence. Our teachers serve as intentional guides, designing classrooms that invite inquiry, foster independence, and support each child’s unique path as a learner.
Because we believe learning is inherently social, our program emphasizes collaboration, student voice, and meaningful engagement. Through hands-on experiences, integrated projects, and opportunities for choice, students actively construct their understanding of the world around them. The result is a dynamic and responsive learning environment that not only builds strong academic foundations, but also nurtures a lifelong love of learning.
Additionally, as part of a K–12 community, Lower School students benefit from a strong sense of continuity while enjoying an educational experience specifically designed for the developmental needs of young learners.
